4-Point Plan

The 4 Point Plan divided 4 targeted geographic areas of the city.  This area is commonly referred to as "the Poverty Crescent" which is where the majority of our affiliates are located. Our hope is to see at least one of these areas ignite this plan, with tangible outcomes that will lead to transforming our neighborhoods, then spread to the other neighboring areas.  Community needs assessments are being developed for canvassing neighborhoods.  Collaborations between numerous ministries in a given area are serving to strengthen and broaden the impact of programs relating to health, children's after-school programs, the renovation of dilapidated, abandoned houses to provide low-income housing, training and jobs.  This effort is led by people who live and work in the neighborhood and is supplemented by the skill strengths of additional volunteers and consultants from suburban churches and colleges.  Those in leadership roles of Project URGE believe this is the collaborative and holistic approach necessary to make the drastic changes needed for lasting and positive change.
