URGEncy Food & Clothing

An initiative that occurs in the Fall where churches in the area collect coats, gloves, scarves, bedding and winter wares and food, to be distributed to the shelters and outreach ministries affiliated with Project URGE. The Jacob Ladder Team then distributes all that was collected to the organizations in need. Churches and Organizations should begin collecting items for the drive in October, to be dropped off at the site of the URGEnt Presentation and Tour - the first Saturday in November

2009 URGEncy Collection results:

Womens - 69 coats
Mens - 82 coats
Kids - 37 coats
Total coats: 188

~250 lbs. of food.
5 large bags of bedclothes
2 large bags of towels
115 knitted hats
40 scarves
35 pair gloves and mittens

4 large bags of men's clothes
3 bags of women's clothes
1 bag of baby/toddler clothing and supplies
2 boxes of shoes and boots
1 box of baseball caps

Contributions we were able to confirm came in from Crosswinds Wesleyan in Canandaigua and St. John Lutheran in Victor.

Proceeds from the day were distributed to:

Embracing Options
Gerhardt Ministry Center
Outreach Temple
Salvation Army

Expenses included $15 for bags, $5 for marking pens and $35 for truck rental.
