Benefits of collaborative membership with Project URGE, Inc.
Project URGE, Inc. is about getting people involved in ministry efforts and promoting a collaborative effort in Christian community development. The only requirement, really, is that you participate in dialogue, attend at least 3 meetings per year and remain plugged in to this opportunity to "expand your tent." In 2005, a measure was adopted for any organization wishing to become a member to be approved by our Board of Directors. Organizations participating must align with our mission.
Project URGE has been instrumental in working to create awareness of organizations that assist and empower the under-resourced. We inform and seek to turn that awareness into opportunities toward involvement. Our hope is to partner churches and individuals in working with organizations who share in our collaborative process. Once an organization becomes a collaborative member, these are the benefits that are available to that organization:
- Publish & circulate a booklets, brochures and volunteer information with ministry and organizational contact info, to help facilitate involvement and inform
- Create an atmosphere of collaboration, through meetings, social events, workshops, as well as, encouraging denominations and urban/suburban churches to work together
- Create & distribute a video, illustrating how people might become involved
- Semi-annual newsletter mailings (featuring ministries, organizations and pertinent information)
- Host and send individuals to seminars, training programs & workshops
- Prayer team (praying for your ministry and organization)
- Publicity team (organizing and producing materials to strengthen our ability to create an awareness of the needs and to engage people in YOUR ministry/org.)
- Grant & research team, researching grant possibilities as well as collaborating with other community groups, such as FACT (Faith and Communities Together), CUPP (Community, University Partnership Project) and others.
- Help steer people to volunteer with your organizations by coordinating church groups (adult & teens), high school and college service project opportunities
- The Jacob's Ladder Team has helped renovate and maintain over a dozen ministry facilities, shelters and churches in and around Rochester
- Network with other ministries, organizations and churches
- Organize the URGEncy Presentation and Tour each November, informing and inviting people to be participants & volunteers in our affiliated organizations and various teams within Project URGE
- Connecting Christians in helping one another to create relationships and work toward racial reconciliation
- Concert of Praise is our collaborative worship event, where churches and organizations come together to celebrate and worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ
- Bread Run serving shelters and soup kitchens each Sat. morn (sometimes Sunday)
- Sharing applicable, invaluable information from the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA), which is a national group of which we share membership
- Saturday Sonshine Program - meeting with youth twice a month for a educational, entertaining and edifying time on Saturday mornings
And much more!
The big question then, how much does it cost you?
There currently is NO membership fee. In return, all we ask is that you stay connected and contribute to the ideas and dialogue of how to better our community through this Christian connection. For these ideas to have wings they require prayer, preparation and participation.
