Concert of Praise
The Concert of Praise is a combined worship event, which includes speakers, vocal groups, painters and dancers. Typically there is involvement from from a variety of urban/suburban churches. In 2005, the Concert of Praise featured acclaimed speaker, Dr. John Perkins, who has dedicated his life to racial reconciliation and rebuilding urban neighborhoods. Additionally, in 2004 & 2005, we had the "Cross Culture" teen choir from Baltimore's "Sandtown" community, which exemplifies the model of having multiracial teens from various denominations come together in song, dance and praise, working toward a positive impact in their community as well as their own lives.
In 2008 the praise event was organized by the Project URGE Youth Mission, which included children and youth from six urban/suburban churches.
In 2005 workshops were offered on a variety of topics including: Christian Community Development, Homeless, Media and more.
Past events have included PUSH Physical Theartre, Sarah Lane, of the American Ballet Theatre, ARC of Monroe, Neutral Zone Players, Teen Challenge, Outreach Temple and Morning Star Missionary Baptist Choirs.
Our main objective is to bring urban and suburban churches to worship the God we serve together. We reinforce the triangle of service, social and worship, with Jesus Christ girding the center. It is a true celebration of what God continues to do within our community and a call for others to join.
